 1962

  • "The weather was fair and clear for both days.  Both Welcome and Eastlan Churches had no heat, but the temperature inside varied between 68 and 72 degrees.  Outside temperatures ranged from 38 to 62 degrees."
  • The attendance:  Welcome in the morning, about 500; afternoon, about 200.  Eastlan in the morning, about 300; night about 200.  There were 112 cars parked at Eastlan during the morning and 65 at night."
  • "Welcome Church fed 500 through a caterer (S. & S. Cafeteria) at 90 cents per box, which included:  three pieces of fried chicken, slaw, potato salad, sandwich, cup-cake, apple, tea or coffee."
  • "We have been distributing about 1,000 copies of The Minutes each year.  This year, because of the addition of two churches and because last year our margin was so close, we are printing, 1,100 copies."
  • "Let's work together to get all of the churches to fill out the Uniform Letter to the Association and give to the Clerk not later than the first day of the Association's annual meeting."
  • "Love for our Denomination makes working with you a most happy prividege."
